In a bid to offer its customers innovative services in local languages on a mobile phone, Reliance Mobile has entered in a strategic partnership with BBC World Service. As a result of this partnership Reliance Mobile customers will now be offered BBC World Service Radio live through Reliance's R-World VAS platform. This is the first such international offering to be launched by an Indian telecom company.
This new partnership, aggregated by Worldwide Records, enables Reliance Mobile subscribers to be able to listen to BBC World Service news in a choice of five different languages, 24/7. BBC World Service will offer news in English, which will switch to Hindi at 6.30 am, 8.00 am, 7.30 pm and 10.30 pm; Tamil, at 09.15pm; Urdu, at 7.00 am, 8.30 pm and 11.00 pm, and Bangla, at 5.00 am, 6.00 am and 6.00 pm.
With R-World, BBC World Service Radio will be able to reach out to the widest possible audience across India, both linguistically and geographically. Reliance subscribers can access the BBC World Service Radio by dialing 51234378 from their Reliance Mobile phones.
