| C-DAC Unveils ISM V6 for Indian Language Computing |

In a bid to further promote Indian language computing in the country, the GIST (Graphics and Intelligence based Script Technology) Group at C-DAC (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing) has released ISM V6 the latest product from their popular range of ISM software. ISM V6 is UNICODE compliant and supports Open Type fonts. Additionally it comprises of ISM Office, ISM Publisher and ISM Soft, which will cater to diverse user requirements from word processing, database applications, web based applications, publishing and even custom built software.
Besides English, ISM V6 supports 19 Indian languages including Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Tamil, Telegu, Manipuri, Nepali, Konkani, Bodo, Santhali, Maithilin and Dogri. ISM V6 has an enhanced spellchecker for Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Malayalam, and Bengali. Additionally Open Office and MS Word macros such as find-replace, keyboard shortcut, convert macro, spellchecker, synonym dictionary and Official Language Dictionary available for documents in Open Type Font.
By using a virtual keyboard named as 'Easy Phonetic', users can now type Indian Language words as convinently as they do in English while chatting or composing emails. It is also possible to convert data in any font type (like BiWeb, BI, and MONO) to Unicode and make it available globally using the convert macro.
