Actis Launches Video Conferencing on 'Wheels'

This Article:

Actis Technologies have launched a high definition mobile video-conferencing solution. The Actis MVU Series (which consists of the MVU-1000P, MVU-1100MP, MVU-2000MP and MVU-2100MP) are self-sufficient, integrated videoconferencing systems mounted on a trolley (with castors). Since the VC system is on a trolley, businesses or institutions can invest in just one system and  moved the set up from one room to another, without making any other changes to the assembly.

The MVU series video-conferencing trolley offers an HD (1080p at 30-frames per-second) viewing experience and includes an integrated display (single or dual monitors), camera, codec, microphone and speakers in the unit. The set up is pre-configured to make video-conferencing calls over ISDN or IP. The MVU series is claimed to be cost-effective because of the bandwidth flexibility it offers and its adherence to open standards. The MVU series also be controlled via remote driven interface making operation even more intuitive.

The Actis MVU Series can also be integrated with existing or an old video conferencing solution. It functions with bandwidth as little as 128 Kbps and up to 6 Mbps as well.

The company views its video-conferencing solution as an answer to the telepresence and video conferencing industry in India. According to Actis the Asia Pacific region will witness greater demand for this service over the next couple of years. Such solutions aid teams in communicating with each other in real time without having to travel to a particular location. It also saves time and increases team productivity. It can also prove useful for educational institutions.

Pricing and Availability
The MVU series is expected to be available by September. They will be priced in the range of Rs.7 lakh and Rs.14 lakh.
